Ποια είναι η φιλοσοφία του παραδοσιακού Ιαπωνικού “Kintsugi” ;
Όπως εξηγεί ο συγγραφέας του Japan Code και ερευνητής του Ιαπωνικού Πολιτισμού κ.Masashi Nakamura:
“Mottainai” Αναγέννηση και ομορφιά”. Το “Kintsugi” είναι μια αρχαία παραδοσιακή Ιαπωνική τεχνική για την αποκατάσταση ρωγμών και θραυσμάτων, που γίνεται χρησιμοποιώντας μείγμα “urushi” (ιαπωνική λάκα). Η κουλτούρα αποκατάστασης kintsugi στην Ιαπωνία ξεκίνησε την περίοδο Jomon πριν από 4000 χρόνια. Τα κεραμικά σκεύη είναι κατασκευασμένα από ορεινά εδάφη, από άργιλο ένα φυσικό υλικό. Ομοίως, για τη διαδικασία αποκατάστασης των ρωγμών τους χρησιμοποιείται μείγμα urushi / λάκα, την οποία μαζεύουν από συγκεκριμένα δέντρα. Με την προσθήκη πολύτιμων συστατικών στο μίγμα urushi/ λάκας, όπως σκόνη χρυσού, μια νέα ομορφιά γεννιέται. Αυτό είναι το πνεύμα της Ιαπωνίας που διατηρεί μία σχέση σεβασμού με τη φύση και την παράδοση. Η συγχώνευση «του πνεύματος της προστασίας και της μετάδοσης των πραγμάτων» και της «παραδοσιακής τεχνικής αποκατάστασης των πραγμάτων» δημιουργεί τον «κόσμο του kintsugi». Η λάκα/ Urushi είναι πιο ισχυρή από το σπαθί, λένε στην Ιαπωνία, τονίζοντας τη σημασία του να ενώνεις από το να διασπάς. Η λάκα του Ιαπωνικού πολιτισμού στη φιλοσοφία του kintsugi διδάσκει τη σύνδεση, μέσω της διατήρησης του παλιού, αναδεικνύοντας την ομορφιά που κρύβεται στις ατέλειες και στις ρωγμές σε πράγματα και καταστάσεις, ξαναδίνοντας τους νέα ζωή.

What is the philosophy of traditional Japanese “KINTSUGI” in Japan? As mr.Masashi Nakamura, author of Japan Code and Researcher of all Japanese Culture explains: «”Mottainai” Regeneration and beauty! “Kintsugi” is an ancient traditional technique for the restoration of cracks and splinters with “urushi” (Japanese lacquer). Japan’s restoration culture began in the Jomon period of 4000 years ago. The ceramics are made from mountain soils, a natural material. Likewise, the restoration process uses “urushi”, a natural ingredient, taken from certain trees. With the addition of valuable ingredients, like gold powder in “urushi”, a new beauty is born. This is the spirit of Japan that has preserved respect for Nature and Culture. And the fusion between “the spirit of protection and transmission of things” and “the traditional technique of restoration of things” that creates the “world of kintsugi”. Lacquer is more powerful than the sword, the lacquer of Japanese will connect humans all over the world, revealing the importance of connecting from breaking up. The lacquer of Japanese culture in the Philosophy of Kintsugi, teaches the connection , through the preservation of the old, highlighting the beauty that is hidden in the imperfections and the cracks, both in things and situations, giving them new life again.

Maria Papatzelou
Graduate of the School of Fine Arts of Thessaloniki, a visual artist, scenographer, co-curator of international art projects, radio producer of @ Art in the City, www.entropiaradio.gr and art teacher in Secondary Education. She lives and works in Thessaloniki. She has participated in many group exhibitions, in Greece and abroad (India, London, Kobe , Excellent Prize in International Art Exchange Exhibition Kobe 2017, 2018, 2019 and Kyoto, Japan) and has presented 6 solo exhibitions. She writes Haiku poetry and her first book “Inner Connections of the Liquid Sky” was published in Japan, with translation and comments by Professor Mr. Masashi Nakamura.
She is a member of Theater Maiotron since 1994.
